After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife destination and one of Africa’s premier safari landscapes. Travel through the dramatic scenery of the Great Rift Valley, passing rolling hills, open plains, farmlands and traditional homesteads as you make your way southwest.

The journey offers a wonderful introduction to the landscapes and communities of Kenya, with opportunities to enjoy scenic viewpoints and capture photographs along the way. As you approach the Masai Mara, the scenery gradually opens into vast grasslands, setting the stage for the wildlife encounters ahead.

Arrive in the Mara in time for lunch and some time to settle in before heading out for a short afternoon and evening game drive. Begin exploring the reserve as the wildlife becomes more active, keeping watch for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and a variety of bird species.

With the golden light of the late afternoon adding to the beauty of the savannah, enjoy your first taste of the Masai Mara’s exceptional wildlife and photography opportunities before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy an early breakfast before setting out on a full-day game drive across the vast golden plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. With an entire day dedicated to exploring the reserve, you have excellent opportunities to experience the Mara’s remarkable concentration and diversity of wildlife.

As you traverse the open savannah, keep watch for the Big Five — lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos — alongside large herds of zebras, wildebeest, topis, gazelles and other plains game. The Mara is also renowned for its thriving population of big cats, so your guide will carefully scan the grasslands for lions resting beneath acacia trees, cheetahs on the hunt and, with luck, elusive leopards.

Continue towards the Mara River, an important wildlife corridor and one of the most dramatic landscapes of the Great Migration. From July to October, the river and surrounding plains can become a spectacular stage as vast herds of wildebeest and zebras move through the Mara ecosystem. Outside the migration season, the area remains a rewarding wildlife-viewing location, with hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birds commonly found along the river.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African savannah, before continuing your afternoon exploration. Take time to appreciate the changing landscapes and capture memorable wildlife photographs as the warm afternoon light begins to soften across the plains.

As the day draws to a close, enjoy a final stretch of game viewing before returning to camp beneath the beautiful golden glow of the Mara sunset. Relax over dinner and reflect on a full day immersed in one of Kenya’s most iconic wilderness areas.

After breakfast, visit a local Maasai village to experience the rich culture and traditions of one of Africa’s most iconic tribes. Participate in community activities such as beadwork, cultural dances, and storytelling.
Later, depart for Amboseli National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. This scenic drive takes approximately 8–9 hours with picnic lunch en route.

Start your day with an early sunrise game drive through Amboseli National Park, when the cool morning air and soft golden light create some of the most spectacular conditions for wildlife viewing and photography. As the sun rises, look towards the horizon for the magnificent sight of Mount Kilimanjaro, with its snow-capped summit towering above the Amboseli plains.

Explore the park’s open savannahs, seasonal wetlands and acacia-dotted landscapes, keeping watch for the park’s famous large elephant herds. Amboseli is renowned for close encounters with elephants, often seen moving across the plains with Mount Kilimanjaro providing an unforgettable backdrop.

Continue your wildlife exploration in search of lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos and various antelope species. The park is also a rewarding destination for bird enthusiasts, with more than 400 recorded bird species, particularly around its wetlands and marshlands.

Pause for a memorable bush breakfast in the wilderness, enjoying your meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African savannah before continuing your morning game drive.

Return to the lodge around midday for lunch and some time to relax during the heat of the afternoon. Later, head back into the park for an evening game drive, when wildlife becomes active again as temperatures cool. Follow the changing light across the plains, look out for predators beginning their evening hunts, and enjoy excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.

As the sun sets over Amboseli, return to the lodge with the unforgettable image of Kilimanjaro, elephants and the golden savannah marking one of the highlights of your Kenya safari.
