Depart Nairobi in the morning and journey southwest toward the legendary Masai Mara. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, from Kenya’s highlands to open savannah, building anticipation as you approach one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.

Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and settle into your surroundings. Take some time to relax before heading out for your first afternoon game drive.

As the afternoon cools, explore the Mara's open grasslands, woodland and riverine areas in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and the reserve's famous big cats. Your first drive is less about ticking animals off a list and more about settling into the rhythm of the wilderness.

As the sun begins to set over the savannah, return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the Mara.

Wake early for your first full day in the Mara and set out before sunrise, when the savannah is at its most atmospheric and wildlife is often particularly active.

Follow the tracks of predators returning from the night and watch as the plains gradually come alive. Depending on the season and recent wildlife activity, you may encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and large herds of wildebeest and gazelles.

Rather than rushing from sighting to sighting, your guide will take time to explore productive areas of the reserve and observe animal behaviour as it unfolds.

Enjoy breakfast in the bush or return to the lodge for breakfast, depending on the day's conditions and wildlife opportunities. Spend the middle of the day relaxing at the lodge before heading out again in the afternoon.

Continue exploring a different part of the Mara as the afternoon light softens across the plains. During the Great Wildebeest Migration season, you may encounter large concentrations of wildebeest and, if the herds are in the area, dramatic river-crossing activity. Sightings are naturally dependent on the animals' movements.

Return to the lodge around sunset for dinner and a relaxed evening.

Begin with another early morning game drive, taking advantage of the soft morning light and cool conditions. This is an opportunity to spend more time following wildlife behaviour, searching for predators and exploring areas of the Mara that you may not have reached the previous day.

After your morning adventure, return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to relax.

In the afternoon, step beyond wildlife and experience another side of the Mara with a Maasai cultural visit. Meet members of the local community, learn about traditional Maasai life, their relationship with cattle and the land, and visit a traditional homestead. The experience offers a chance to understand the people and culture that have shared this landscape for generations.

Later, return to your lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening overlooking the Mara.
