6 Day Kenya Safari – Wildlife, Culture and Photography

Meet your driver-guide at your Nairobi hotel or the airport and depart for Amboseli National Park. The journey takes you south through the Kenyan countryside to the park, known for its large elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After lunch, head out for your first game drive. Explore the park’s open plains and wetlands, with opportunities to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest and other wildlife.

After breakfast, set out with packed lunch for a full day in Amboseli. Morning and afternoon game drives take you through different areas of the park, including the wetlands and open plains.

Amboseli is particularly well known for its elephants, while other possible sightings include buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, lions and a variety of antelopes. On clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro provides a distinctive backdrop across the park.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel towards Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through Nairobi and continuing into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru is an important rhino sanctuary and offers opportunities to see both black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, zebras, lions and other wildlife. The lake and surrounding woodland also support a wide range of bird species.

After breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru and continue to the Masai Mara National Reserve. After arriving and checking in, have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Explore the Mara’s open grasslands and riverine areas, looking for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes and predators such as lions and cheetahs. If conditions allow, continue the game drive towards sunset before returning to the lodge.

Start with an early morning game drive when wildlife is often active. After breakfast, continue exploring the reserve with further game viewing across the Mara plains.

Depending on the season and wildlife movements, there may be opportunities to see large herds of wildebeest and zebra during the Great Migration, as well as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes and other species. Return to the lodge for lunch and later head out for an afternoon game drive.
