Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the main highlight of your Uganda safari: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing point, where your ranger guides and trackers will prepare you for the trek. From there, enter the ancient rainforest and follow the forest trails in search of your assigned gorilla family.
The trek can vary in length depending on where the gorillas are located, with the terrain ranging from forest paths to steep mountain slopes. Along the way, your ranger will introduce you to Bwindi's rich forest ecosystem and help you notice its birds, plants, monkeys and other wildlife.
Once you reach the gorillas, spend the permitted viewing time observing them in their natural habitat. Watching a family move through the forest, with silverbacks, mothers and young gorillas going about their daily lives, is an unforgettable part of the experience.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax. If you would like to continue exploring the culture of the region, an optional Batwa cultural experience can be arranged before dinner.
