8 Day Safari Uganda Wildlife Adventure

This 8-Day Uganda Safari combines wildlife, gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking across some of Uganda’s most rewarding destinations. Starting in Entebbe, the journey travels through Lake Mburo National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, with game drives, a walking safari, the Kazinga Channel boat cruise and unforgettable encounters with Uganda’s primates.

The safari is designed as a gradual journey through changing landscapes, from the open savannah of Lake Mburo to the forests of Bwindi and the wildlife-rich plains of Queen Elizabeth. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions and hippos, trek mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, and experience Uganda beyond its wildlife through its landscapes and local communities.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The Journey

Itinerary of Day 4

Today is the main highlight of your Uganda safari: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing point, where your ranger guides and trackers will prepare you for the trek. From there, enter the ancient rainforest and follow the forest trails in search of your assigned gorilla family.

The trek can vary in length depending on where the gorillas are located, with the terrain ranging from forest paths to steep mountain slopes. Along the way, your ranger will introduce you to Bwindi's rich forest ecosystem and help you notice its birds, plants, monkeys and other wildlife.

Once you reach the gorillas, spend the permitted viewing time observing them in their natural habitat. Watching a family move through the forest, with silverbacks, mothers and young gorillas going about their daily lives, is an unforgettable part of the experience.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax. If you would like to continue exploring the culture of the region, an optional Batwa cultural experience can be arranged before dinner.
