Safari Overview

Journey through remote villages, witness authentic ceremonies, and capture the vibrant traditions and landscapes of South Sudan on a first-class cultural and photography expedition

Toposa • Jie • Laarim • Lopit • Mundari
This rare South Sudan Tribal Photography Expedition is designed for serious photographers and cultural explorers seeking access to some of Africa’s most remote and visually powerful communities. Moving deep into the country’s eastern and central regions, the journey focuses on five distinct ethnic groups — Toposa, Jie, Laarim, Lopit, and Mundari — each with unique traditions, dress, body adornment, and landscapes.

Travel is slow, deliberate, and flexible, allowing time for sunrise and sunset photography, relationship-building with communities, and adaptation to light, weather, and cultural rhythms. This is not a sightseeing tour — it is a true field expedition, operated with experienced local guides, fixers, and carefully planned logistics.
