10 Day Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Classic Safari

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your professional driver-guide will meet and greet you. Transfer to your lodge for check-in, followed by a relaxed city tour exploring Arusha’s vibrant craft markets and the Arusha National Museum. Take this time to recover from your journey, learn about Tanzania’s rich culture, and enjoy a warm welcome dinner.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the countryside and glimpses of rural Tanzanian life along the way. Enter the park and continue to your lodge, where you will check in and settle into the surroundings before enjoying lunch.

Later in the afternoon, set out for your first game drive through Tarangire. Known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife, the park offers excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas and, with luck, lions. As the afternoon cools, continue exploring the park before returning to the lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and time to unwind.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, enjoying the changing landscapes as you approach the park beneath the Rift Valley escarpment. Continue to your lodge for check-in and lunch, followed by some time to relax and settle in.

Later in the afternoon, head into Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Explore the park’s diverse habitats, looking out for baboons, elephants, giraffes, hippos and colourful birdlife, with the chance to encounter its famous tree-climbing lions. The dramatic Rift Valley escarpment provides a striking backdrop as the afternoon unfolds before returning to the lodge for the evening.

Fuel up with an early breakfast and set out toward the Serengeti, enjoying a picturesque drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands. As you descend onto the endless plains, the wildlife density increases. Keep your eyes peeled for wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and ostriches. Arrive at your tented camp in time for dinner and an overnight stay under the starlit Serengeti sky.

Spend two rewarding days immersed in the vast wilderness of the Serengeti, with early morning and afternoon game drives across the endless plains. The cool sunrise hours offer excellent opportunities to encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, while elephants, giraffes and large herds add to the experience. Depending on the season and location, you may also witness the dramatic movements of the Great Migration.

For an extra special perspective, one morning can be dedicated to an optional hot air balloon safari. Rise above the Serengeti as the sun comes up, watching wildlife and herds move across the plains below before enjoying a memorable bush breakfast.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you make your way toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. The road winds through Maasai lands, giving you insight into traditional lifestyles. Check into your lodge overlooking the Crater rim and unwind for the evening.

Rise early for breakfast and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. With over 10,000 animals enclosed in the caldera, you’ll have the chance to see all members of the Big Five. Keep a lookout for the rare black rhino and large prides of lions, along with hippos, flamingos, jackals, and hyenas. Return to the lodge in the afternoon for rest and reflection.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning around the Ngorongoro Highlands with a gentle nature walk along the crater rim. Take in sweeping views across the caldera, explore the surrounding forest and highland landscapes, and enjoy the cool mountain air at an unhurried pace.

Later, spend time with a local Maasai community for an authentic cultural experience. Learn about their traditions, daily life, cattle-keeping and connection to the land through an engaging cultural talk.

As the day comes to an end, settle into a peaceful sunset experience overlooking the highlands, a beautiful way to slow down and take in the landscape before your next safari adventure.
